Hemstitch Linen Napkin — Summer Breeze

A seasonal piece from Milla's studio, made by hand in Seattle from European linen of the highest grade.

The hemstitch is drawn the traditional way — threads pulled individually from the weave — then the hems are finished on a studio sewing machine, one napkin at a time. It's slow work, and it shows in the way the napkin sits on the table: substantial, quietly textured, with the soft fall that only proper linen has.

Milla makes these in small runs alongside her paintings, in three colors released by season. Summer Breeze is the softest of the three — a pale, almost-there turquoise that reads coastal in summer and unexpected in winter. It pairs especially well with white ceramic, weathered wood, and the season's first cut flowers.
