“Princess Norah” - Formosan Mountain Dog Portrait with Crown
Norah, a rescue Formosan Mountain Dog, inspired this portrait. I worked from a photograph, transforming a casual snapshot into a formal study. I stripped away the background and focused on Norah’s expression, her warm eyes, and alert intelligence typical of this ancient Taiwanese breed. The silver crown was my addition, a whimsical nod to how spoiled and loved this dog is.
The detail is all pen and ink on hot-pressed watercolor paper. Every whisker, every strand of fur, every highlight was carefully rendered by hand.
