MTV is pinpoint art: the whole image is built from small dots, in the way newspapers once printed their photographs. A singer leans into an old-style studio microphone, eyes closed and headphones on, caught in the moment before the note. Up close the picture dissolves into thousands of separate points of ink and marker; from a step back they resolve into a single image, with chrome marker adding a metallic edge to the microphone.
Original drawing in ink, black marker, and chrome marker by Seattle artist Milla Petrova, 10.5 × 13.5 inches.
